Hey Members,
Round 3 is going to be held this Sunday 2nd August at Singleton Beach Main Car park, so it is easy for us to set up and pack up and not to annoy the residents and people risk getting parking fines etc.
The main car park is at the end of Singleton Beach Road (The entry road into Singleton) and has a large and a small car park with toilets attached to it so you should not miss it.
We will be there at 7 to start setting up so if you can make it there then to help out to ease the load and get the day off to a quick start that would be great! The banks at Singleton have been pretty cool lately so hopefully the swell stays around and provides a fun day for all!
See you sunday!

Davis Blackwell 2
Davis Blackwell 1
Troy Coppola
Chad Abbott
Brendon Walley

Jack Bunyan & George Humphreys, pre heat "warm up"
On Sunday (12th July) Mandurah Bodyboard Club hosted Round 2 in some fun conditions at South Singleton. With some good winter banks hanging around, some 2 foot peaks were provided for some great conditions for the competitors.
First in the water was a keen A division with a mix of new and old faces. Jayden Muir couldn't find the right waves in the final to showcase his Singleton local knowledge, but still managed to come a tidy 4th place. Storm Spencer stepped up to recieve a well deserved 3rd place just being pipped by Brendon Walley in 2nd. Taking A division out was Troy "Nitro" Coppola who showed great wave choice and skill with the ability to move up into a higher division.
Halls Head bodyboarder Ben Hardman dominated the AA division with some huge rolls followed by a tidy invert and an ARS, Ben showed some great skill all day with the ability to throw down these moves on a variety of rights and lefts. Placing just behind Ben was George Humphreys, who was consistent with spin to roll combos all day earning him 2nd place. 13 year old Davis Blackwell didn't go down without a battle placing in 3rd with Matt Rakich finishing in 4th place.
The Dropknee division was taken out by Chad Abbott who seemed to be in a spin-to-win state of mind which has never seemed to fail for the Singleton Local. Brendon Gabel showed his versatility by taking a break from prone to carve his way into second place, to be followed by fellow 90% prone rider Matt Rackich who received 3rd Place. Driving all the way up from Margaret River, Declan Genge couldn't seem to find the right waves to show what down south dropknee is all about, but still put some scores on the board to achieve 4th place.
AAA Division was a highly competitive division to watch with the finalists making the absolute best of the waves. Michael "Grudge" Grainger (4th Place) got off with a cracking start with numerous spin to roll combos, but couldn't find the waves in the dying minutes to keep up with the high scores being set by the other competitors. 3rd place was grasped by George Humphreys who got narrowly beaten by his good friend Davis Blackwell who got a good barrell to big roll to 3 spins which earned him 2nd place. Brendon Gable had the final in the bag right from his first wave, landing a big backflip and then getting numerous deep barrells to roll combos, Brendon showed what a consistent surfer he is throughout the day and proved that he has the ability to take his bodyboarding to the next level.
Standout Waves of the day:
Matt Rackich, set left barrell (pictured)
Brendon Gabel, 5 second barrell to roll, 9 points from 2 judges
Ben Hardman, Take off pit to huge roll to foward spin to reverse spin
Davis Blackwell, Barrell to roll to spin x 3 (barrell and roll pictured)
Michael Grainger, spin into the barrell to roll
Round 2 was a great day for all but wouldn't of been as good as it was if it wasn't for John Barker, The Blackwells, our Judges and our Sponsors who provided prizes and equipment for the day; Star Surf & Skate, Reeflex Wetsuits, Bunnings Warehouse & Exclusively Bodyboarding. Thank you to all that helped out, we look forward to seeing you all at Round 3 which is scheduled for the 1st/2nd of August (Best Day).

COMP TOMMORROW!!
The long awaited/rescheduled/stuffedaroundwith/sick/madog ROUND 2 is TOMMORROW at SOUTH SINGLETON. For many of you, you will refer to South Singoes as the carpark with the lookout, soz but your wrong. The comp will be held at the very south end of Foreshore Drive, mainly to get away from the retarded Singleton stand ups. I've attached a map which is basically X marks the spot just incase you have some of those mentioned stand ups in your blood!
Regards,
Jack, not the President.

ROUND 2 THIS SUNDAY
The long awaited MBC Round 2 will get underway this Sunday at Singleton. With offshore winds and a 2m swell, we should be greeted by some punchy peaks. We will meet at the very south end of Singleton Beach, we will start setting up at 7am with registration from 7.20am and first heat before 8am.
Remember we will have the BBQ firing and choccies an
d drinks for sale to help with fundraising for the club so bring along some extra coin along with your entry fees.
With fantastic prizes for judges & finalists in each division, this is a round not to be missed!
See you there!
Regards
John Barker – MBC President
Same swell/wind at the same break around the same time last year. Fingers crossed Singoes provides some good banks like it did in this picture by Jack Bunyan from Round 4 last year!

ROUND 2 POSTPONED
Hey MBCers,
Round 2 was scheduled for this weekend but due to the lack of swell again we have decided to postpone it for another weekend. I will confirm this new date with you all in the next few days once the committee has had the chance to discuss it further. With the current swell dropping rapidly it looks as though the weekend will be below the 1.3m forecast which is basically one foot and with high tides this makes for slow, fat waves which is what we all hate!
We would rather make the decision of postponing it now rather than on the day as some members come from Perth and even Margs so it make sense to do it now.
It keeps the weekend free to watch the Shark Island Trials anyway. See http://www.limited-edition.net.au/?cat=3 for the latest on what’s going down.
Kind regards
John Barker – the pres!
