Massive props are going out to Mr Joel Taylor, ex pro bodyboarder and now the manager of one of the most well known clothing companies in the bodyboarding industry, Unite, who has just announced Unite will be supporting the club with prizes at the end of year presentation.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, things have been busy and so has the swell. With almost 2 weeks straight with 2.5m+ swell there has been some pretty good sessions going down around WA, and with most good sessions comes good pictures, check broms blog and alex miller's flickr for some pictures from rotto last week, and stay tuned for some photos from a session at a secret spot yesterday....


Also don't Forget MBC round 2 will be coming up very shortly (4th/5th July [Best day])

NEW MBC ROUND 2 DATES + NEW CALENDER

Hello Members,



Thanks for those who turned up last Saturday to Tips for round 2 but due to lack of swell (Jack Bunyan forgot to do a swell dance on Friday night) we were forced to cancel and reschedule. The new Calendar is below. We have simply moved round 2 to round 3 dates and moved round 3 to the old State Round 3 date as this has moved to September to allow for the pros to compete on home soil as it clashed with world tour events in South America. So for those of you who did not make it, make sure you get down and support the club that supports you at round 3!!



PS – Reeflex wetsuits and accessories are now available at Destination Surf in Falcon. So pop in and see Gavin for all your Reeflex gear. If there is a size or type he has not got in stock, be sure to ask as he can order it in for you in a jiffy no problemo!. ROUND 2 POSTPONED

First of all, on behalf of MBC I would like to say sorry to all the people that turned up for the comp for nothing, especially club member Declan Genge who came all the way from Margs (committttttttttt bro) The waves were pretty rank as you would've seen so we have decided to postpone round 2 until further notice aka some decent swell. Keep your eyes on this blog for details of the date for round 2.

Mandurah Bodyboard Club would like to give a massive thanks to Bunnings Warehouse for willingly supporting the club. Bunnings has just donated to the club :

• 1 Fabric shelter for our brand new barebeque
• 4 Fold-up chairs for our judges
• A new chilly bin to keep those beverages as cold as they come

Unless you have been living under a rock for the last ten years or so Bunnings Warehouse Mandurah is located near the Gordon Road lights in North Mandurah. Just look for the massive red hammer printed on a even bigger green shed! If you have any hardware needs bunnings is the ebb of tools! So what are you waiting for...... Lowest prices are just the beginning.

ROUND 2 THIS SATURDAY!

Hey Gang,

We are going to hold Round 2 on Saturday at “Tips”. Tips is approximately 800-1000m south of pyramids beach or the cut/wedge. You can get there by driving to the cut golf course club house and keep going and park in front of the 2 high rise buildings currently under construction, you can’t miss them! Then you will need to walk down the fairway on the south side of the high rise and onto an existing pathway that will bring you to a lookout where if you look to the south you will see the break doing its thing.

Tips has both left and right hand peaks of equal length with a section on offer to bust some high scoring manoeuvres which will make for some exciting spectating and judging. Speaking of Judging,
We are now going to reward people who judge. We require around 10 - 12 members to be judges throughout the course of the day so it gives the committee members time to run the comp smoothly and quickly. You will be required to judge a minimum of 5 heats and in return we will give you a Mega Meal Deal. That includes a hotdog, icy cold can of soft drink and your choice of a Cadbury chocolate.
The good folk at Reeflex are also going to be giving a prize to the best judge on the day so if you are keen, when you come and see me first up in the morning to register make it know that you are interested in judging. If you have not judged before, don’t let that stop you, we are more than willing to help you. Learning and knowing the judging criteria also helps you improve your surfing so you are doing your selves a favour by becoming a judge. You may wish to go on and judge state rounds, national tiles, aussie and world tour competitions!!

Remember to bring your $10 for each division you want to enter and also lunch money for our fundraising sausage sizzle shnizzzle.

Star Surf & EBB will be proving vouchers for all 4 divisions. $50 - 1st, $35 - 2nd, $20 - 3rd, $10 - 4th. You snooze, you lose!

See you Saturday from 7am onwards, comp to start around 7.40am
